Hi, my new name is Stella (also known as Jillian and Betsy). I’m a 2-year old Boston Terrier who was in search of a forever home. Who would have thought that I would find my new forever home and parents in the U.S.? My parents had done a ton of research
about dogs and realized that a perfect dog for them would be a Boston
Terrier. They contacted some great Boston Terrier Rescue Groups and the
great people who were fostering me thought we would all be a perfect fit.
So they made a ton of arrangements to transport me from Toronto to
Syracuse NY where my new parents met me in mid-June. My new home is in
Worcester (Woohstah…still trying to figure out this pseudo-Boston
accent), Massachusetts. Worcester is about 50 miles west of Boston. My new
Mommy & Daddy LOVE me to pieces and I’m getting more and more
comfortable around them. I do have a reputation as a bit of a diva, and my
parents are learning to work with that. I think I have them pretty much
trained to my way or no way. |

I love my new home and my new parents love me so much. I have adjusted really quickly and I have had so much fun. My parents do have a cat, named Nikita, whom I haven’t really been able to meet, although I do try to find her behind the television set and one time I did find her under the bed but she swatted at me, resulting in a quick emergency room visit. Mommy and Daddy were worried sick about me, and the ER veterinarian and ophthalmologist took excellent care of me. I healed super fast and was back to my usual self in 2 days! I have grandparents and aunts and uncles too. One of my Nana’s has taken me out for really LONG walks. I’m always so pooped when I go out with Nana. Mommy and Daddy love it because then I’m not so hyper at night. I also have a cousin, named Bella who is a beagle. I haven’t met her yet because she’s a bit of a wild child and I don’t get along too well with other dogs. Mommy and Daddy reassure me all the time that I’m a good dog and we also go to weekly dog training classes…mostly to get Mommy and Daddy trained My trainer is named Joyce and I love her almost as much as Mommy and Daddy. Joyce has given me two Frisbees, lots of hugs and I get to lap her face all the time. She also is training me to get along with other dogs and brought in her rescued Golden Retriever named Montana. He was a good boy and let me sniff him and approach him. It’s going to take a while but I think I’ll be able to tolerate some dogs, as long as they do not attack me. Even though I may have been trained in my previous homes, we still practice every day and I’m able to sit, stay, lay down all with a hand command and I don’t even need the words, although lay down is not my favorite since I’m so active. I’ve also learned "soft mouth" since I can be a bit nippy when excited. I’m learning "stay" and I’m hoping to go to advanced classes and maybe enter a Frisbee competition because I’m a super jumper and catcher. I don’t drop too well because I’m so excited to keep playing. I’ll keep you posted on any competitions I do enter! The best thing is that we live near a park. We go walking there almost every single day. There are lots of dogs and people. The people always stop to tell me how beautiful I am. Well, I am the most beautiful dog in the park and I have an adoring fan base. Who doesn’t like a Boston Terrier, especially this cutie face? I recently touched my paws in the Atlantic Ocean, a first for me, I think. I loved playing on the rocks and chasing the waves. I hope we go back to the ocean soon. Best of all, I get to snuggle in bed with my new parents. I’m a bit of a diva and a bed hog so we’ve had a few sleepless nights but I am getting better about sharing the space and the covers. I heard Daddy saying we might need to get a king-size bed, all the more for me to spread out in. I love my new home so much and I just know
it’s going to be forever. I want to thank the kind people who fostered
me and took care of me. I haven’t forgotten any of you and while I’m
happy where I am do miss seeing you! Kelly
