BTCC RESCUE
  Simon’s Story

Simon came to BTCC Rescue in early January 2005 when we were contacted about him by a compassionate and caring person named Melissa. Poor ten month old Simon had epilepsy and had been bounced around from home to home since November 2004. Simon was a puppy from an unregistered breeder and was purchased by an older couple in August 2004. They surrendered him to an employee at their vet clinic in November shortly after his diagnosis of epilepsy.

Simon was placed in several different homes but sadly, he was returned each time he was placed. He was then transferred into Melissa’s care and she in turn contacted us at BTCC Rescue for help in placing him. I took Simon into foster care and took him to the vet for a complete check up and blood tests to ensure that his medication levels to control his epilepsy were appropriate. Once Simon’s medication levels were adjusted he was ready to go to his new home.

Simon has found a wonderful home with Ken and Sharon Clark in Quesnel, BC.  Ken and Sharon had recently experienced the unexpected loss of one of their boston terriers, their female boston terrier named Belle, who had also had epilepsy. Even though it was very soon after Belle’s passing, the Clarks saw past their grief and opened their hearts to Simon. He is thriving under their excellent and experienced care. Simon is also very happy to have a boston brother named Baxter to play with and cuddle with.

We would like to thank Melissa for helping Simon find his way into our care and providing him with love and safety while he was homeless. We would also like to thank Ken and Sharon and their boston terrier, Baxter for providing Simon with a loving and permanent home. I know Belle would be happy to know that another dog was helped in her memory.
