  Sadie’s Story

Update: Sadly, Emma passed away peacefully in May 2005 surrounded by her loved ones. We would like to thank Lorraine and her family for giving Emma the best possible home and care. Emma was truly loved and cherished by her family. Although Emma is no longer with us, her gentle soul and forgiving nature will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Emma, you are very missed.

Sadie And Val

I'm watching her MOM!

Sadie, a 19-month old female, was surrendered to rescue in the US. She then hitched a ride to Canada and the BTCC rescue program with agility/flyball champion, and Ontario resident, Boston Terrier "Tumbelina", who had been attending an event in New York State. There were so many good homes waiting in Canada that everyone knew Sadie would find the perfect place. And she quickly did! After spending a short time in foster care with Kelly Pankatz, Sadie went to join her new family in the Peterborough area of Ontario.

It was love at first sight for Sadie and her new owners Stan and Valerie. Even more excited at Sadie's arrival was the family's Boston Terrier Fanny. As Val says, "Sadie and Fanny are in love with each other! When Fanny first spotted Sadie, her mouth dropped open and I thought her eyes were going to bug out of her head!" They immediately began running around the house, playing and chasing each other and having a great time. When they eventually do find time to rest, they lay on the couch side by side. 13-year old Wiley, a German Shepherd, is also very glad of his new sister's addition to the family, since it gives him some well-deserved rest from active young Fanny, who expected this gentle senior to play with her non-stop!

Sadie, bred in Arkansas, originally purchased in a New York pet store, and now a proud Canadian, may have journeyed far to find her forever home, but find it she did. Val and Stan say, "We love her more each day. It's like she has been here all her life. And she will be for the rest of it."
