  Riley’s Story

Riley (now known as Ripley) – Poor 6 year old Riley was surrendered by his family in Calgary because they were expecting another baby and felt that they could not give Riley the attention he needed. Riley went to live with our BTCC Rescue Representative, Laura Cox, in Calgary while the search for his "forever" home began. We were looking for a very specific type of home for Riley: no other pets, no other dogs, and no children. Riley was in foster care with Laura for three weeks while we sorted through applications. Unfortunately, although the applicants on the waiting list were wonderful, we did not find any suitable homes for Riley that met his requirements. Riley’s foster family was about to leave for Australia for an extended trip, so Riley was flown to Vancouver and was fostered by Ana-Maria Davies until the perfect home was found. Donna Cole referred Britta and Cory to us and we arranged a meeting for them to come and meet Riley. It was obvious to everyone in the room that Riley wanted these people as his new family. He went absolutely crazy when he met Britta and Cory! He was barking, jumping, giving kisses, cuddling with them and completely ignoring everyone else in the room. Riley had found his new home!

Many thanks to BTCC Rescue Representative Laura Cox for fostering and transporting Riley and to Donna Cole for referring the perfect family for him!
