Adopted June 2006 Oscar had run into some really bad luck. His beloved owner, an elderly lady in her 90’s had died, and he had gone to live with her son. Sadly, within a couple of months the son too passed away, and no one else wanted Oscar -- he was delivered to the vets by relatives to be put to sleep. Severely overweight (he had been loved too well and exercised too little), Oscar was still a bright and happy boy and the vet contacted rescue to see if we could help. Oscar was brought into rescue, and here his luck really changed. Neighbours of his foster caregiver Bev met this jovial fellow, and it was love at first sight! Oscar joined his new family right away, began long walks and a good diet, and was soon looking wonderfully well. He loved his new home, greeting neighbours as old friends, he enjoyed weekend visits to the farm, and “working” visits to see seniors and shut-ins, even joining in at church choir practice! He was happy and much loved by Noreen and James. Sadly, Oscar’s happy days were far too short in number. On November 2nd, 2006, Oscar suffered congestive heart failure and despite the valient effort to save him he passed away. God’s speed Oscar. You will be missed.
