  GORDIE - A Rescue Story

Gordie came into BTCC Rescue via an ad placed in the newspaper by his previous owner. She was finding she didn't have time for his high energy and couldn't give him everything she thought he deserved. She was looking for a temporary home until she could properly care for Gordie. When his previous owner was contacted, Gordie was already being temporarily fostered by Kathy and Jayme who have a beautiful boston terrier named Mille. Unfortunately, they were finding they were allergic to Gordie and wouldn't be able to keep him for very long. We discussed different options for Gordie.

Several weeks later, Gordie's previous owner contacted me to help her find a permanent home for Gordie, as she thought this was the best decision for him. I was in touch with a young couple in Edmonton who had just begun their search for their second Boston , a playmate for Ajax , their one year old male Boston . Brian, Aynsley and Ajax were the perfect fit for Gordie! We set up a play date with all involved. Gordie and Ajax got along famously! They played for a few hours and kept each other busy. It was like they were long lost friends. Gordie ended up going home with his new family that evening. Ajax and Gordie continue to keep each other busy and they were snuggling together for quiet times within days of meeting.

Brian and Aynsley are enjoying Gordie's personality. When he is told he his handsome or a good boy, he actually sticks out his chest and struts his stuff! They have started clicker training with both Gordie and Ajax and things are going very well. They all enjoy daily trips to the dog park where Gordie loves to swim and even has Ajax (who was previously scared of the water) following him in!

I am thrilled with his new family and I believe Ajax , Gordie, Brian and Aynsely will have a long happy life together. Thank you Brian and Aynsley for helping BTCC rescue put another Boston in a wonderful home!
