| Colita
came to the BTCC rescue organization as an 8 year old owner
surrendered dog. Sadly, she had never been spayed and had a
litter of boston terrier/poodle mixes when she was 4 years old.
She was not in good health when she was picked up. She was
severely dehydrated, suffered from a long term eye infection,
and appeared to be experiencing a false pregnancy. She was taken
to the Huff Animal Hospital immediately and Dr. Val Maks
discovered a large tumour in Colita's abdomen. She advised
surgery as soon as possible to remove the tumour and to be able
to determine a prognosis. |

The Boston Terrier Club of Canada Rescue
Organization just spent approximately $1,000 on a rescued female boston
terrier named Emma the previous month. We had no time to recuperate
financially and build up our rescue account to assist Colita. The
surgery needed to be performed as soon as possible if Colita was going
to have a chance to survive. We were desperate to help this poor boston
terrier have a chance at a happy life.
Thankfully, as the news got out that Colita needed medical care
donations started to come in. The BTCC Rescue Organization is very
grateful for the kindness and generosity of the kind people who donated
funds to help this special little boston terrier. We are also very
grateful to Dr. Val Maks, of the Huff Animal Hospital, who donated her
time and expertise to perform Colita's surgery. We will always be
thankful to Dr. Maks for her thoughtfulness and compassion.
We are happy to report that Colita's surgery has been performed and that
her tumour has been diagnosed as benign. Her prognosis is excellent, she
will have a long and happy life ahead of her J Colita went to her new
home and is living happily with her new family. This happy ending could
not have been possible without the kind support of The Bostons R Us MSN
Group, Boston Aid, Andrea Elsey, Richard Soga and family, Kerri
Fairclough, Judy Merritt, and the wonderful staff and doctors of the
Huff Animal Hospital. We would also like to thank Angel and Mike for
giving Colita a wonderful "forever" home.
Your kindness will always be remembered and appreciated by the Boston
Terrier Club of Canada Rescue Organization and by a special little
boston terrier named Colita J
