  BJ’s Story

BJ is a lovely and affectionate 7 year old boston terrier female that found herself in need of a new home due to her owner’s difficult personal circumstances. BJ had a severe eye problem and had mounting veterinary costs. Her previous owner Barb was forced to make an agonizing decision – keep BJ and not be able to provide the best vet care for her or surrender her to a new home that could help her get the medical attention she needed. After several long months of thinking it over Barb decided to surrender BJ to BTCC Rescue.

BJ went into foster care with Anne Meier in Saskatchewan in mid December. Anne made an appointment with a veterinary ophthalmologist at the University of Saskatchewan to see if BJ’s eye could be saved. Sadly, BJ has lost the vision in her left eye and every effort is being made to help her keep the vision in her other eye.

BJ will require daily eye drops for the rest of her life and continued visits to the ophthalmologist.

Anne has decided to adopt BJ. BJ is such a little charmer and she gets along very well with Otto, the other boston terrier in Anne’s home.

Here is a recent update from Anne:
She has really settled in very well with the other animals in our menagerie. She and Otto cuddle together on the cushion in front of the warm air vent, and they are quite happy to exchange kennels for sleeping. Some days they have insisted on being together in the same kennel. I think she is happy here and we are happy to have her.

We would like to thank Barb for showing BJ unconditional love and support, and we would also like to thank Anne and her boston terrier Otto for welcoming BJ into their lives. BJ is a very lucky dog to have so much love in her life!
